This week's microfiction is a 60-word story about bipolar disorder and mania.

Many of my micro stories are inspired by prompts provided by THE FICTION DEALER Substack. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re interested in reading more microfics — or writing your own!

Nocturnal Moods

Like an unscratchable itch, the urge to blow up your life strikes in the quiet hours of night.

Impulses scramble inside like a squirrel on coke. Do this drug; spend all your cash. Fuck this rando; drive way too fast. Drink—smoke—eat your way into a merry grave.

Smother the thoughts with pills.

Try not to smother yourself, too.

Writing without a paywall is important to me, but writing is work. If you enjoyed this post or found it helpful, I would be honored if you would consider donating.
