This week's microfiction is a 70-word story about happiness.
Many (but not all) of my micro stories are inspired by prompts provided by THE FICTION DEALER Substack. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re interested in reading more microfics — or writing your own!
Cloudless Sky
The sky had never seemed clearer, bluer, freer, as it did when Gracie stepped outside for the first time after signing the papers.
“You’ll never find someone else like me,” Michael had sneered during their last phone call.
“Is that a promise?” Gracie had laughed before hanging up.
Now, the cloudless sky seemed a fulfillment of that promise. Gracie laughed and threw her arms wide open, soaking up the sunlight.
Writing without a paywall is important to me, but writing is work. If you enjoyed this post or found it helpful, I would be honored if you would consider donating.
