This week's microfiction is a 53-word story about Burt Reynolds' mustache. Seriously.

Many of my micro stories are inspired by prompts provided by THE FICTION DEALER Substack. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re interested in reading more microfics — or writing your own!

Lip Service

“Burt Reynolds’ mustache can’t hurt you,” they said…but that cookie duster haunted me. I could feel it watching me while my parents watched Smokey and the Bandit.

That night, the ‘stache came to claim my life, leaving Reynolds’ upper lip as bare as in his Gunsmoke days while strangling me with manliness.

Writing without a paywall is important to me, but writing is work. If you enjoyed this post or found it helpful, I would be honored if you would consider donating.
