This week's microfiction is a 100-word story about a flawless plan that couldn't possibly go wrong.

Many of my micro stories are inspired by prompts provided by THE FICTION DEALER Substack. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re interested in reading more microfics — or writing your own!

“Slow down,” Theresa said. “You wanna what?”

“Rob the campus bookstore,” Mischa repeated. “Then resell the textbooks at a reasonable price. We’d make bank while helping everybody else afford their overpriced textbooks.”

“Crazier than my awesome plan to smuggle a chicken into our dorm?”

“Yes!”

Mischa grinned. “So you’ll do it?”

“No!” Theresa laughed. “We’d get expelled.”

“What if…” Mischa trailed off.

“What?”

“What if we talked some guys into stealing them for us?”

Theresa leaned forward. “Now that’s an idea…”

Writing without a paywall is important to me, but writing is work. If you enjoyed this post or found it helpful, I would be honored if you would consider donating.
