This week's microfiction is a 70-word story about looooove.
Many of my micro stories are inspired by prompts provided by THE FICTION DEALER Substack. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re interested in reading more microfics — or writing your own!
A Kiss and a Wish
Under a tapestry made of stars, they held hands and listened to the cicadas’ chorus.
“Let’s make a wish,” she suggested.
“But I haven’t seen a shooting star,” he said.
She gave him a kiss as soft as velvet. “Who needs shooting stars? Now, close your eyes and wish.”
He closed his eyes, out of love for her, and pretended. He didn’t need to wish; he had everything he wanted.
Writing without a paywall is important to me, but writing is work. If you enjoyed this post or found it helpful, I would be honored if you would consider donating.
