This week's microfiction is a 50-word story about a bug's worst fear.

Many (but not all) of my micro stories are inspired by prompts provided by THE FICTION DEALER Substack. I highly recommend checking it out if you’re interested in reading more microfics — or writing your own!

A Bug's Horror

The light calls to me—a beautiful miniature sun encased in iron, offering eternal life. I approach, helpless to its pull. Drunk off the beauty, I don’t register the resonating buzz growing steadily louder until too late. One touch and my scorched wings wither; dead, I fall to the ground.

Writing without a paywall is important to me, but writing is work. If you enjoyed this post or found it helpful, I would be honored if you would consider donating.
